DNA Gives Back 2011

  • DNA Holiday Charity Giving

This year we are doing something a little different than our traditional food drive boxes in your buildings.

We have selected local charities that we would like for our members to show support for during this holiday season. We will be providing boxes to collect items for each of these charities at our October, November and December socials. In addition, we have provided you with some information on each of the organizations below and provided a hyperlink to their websites (just click on the appropriate image) for any monetary donation you would like to give.

          Oct. 27 Splash Social

  • Since 1992 our mission is to provide free shelter and meals to homeless adults regardless of physical or emotional conditions, and to facilitate their move toward self-sufficiency.

Approximately 1,700 homeless women and men have received emergency shelter and assistive services to help them move beyond homelessness each year.
Emergency shelter beds are available from 4pm-8am daily. Additional beds are allocated as longer-term transitional housing for homeless veterans. Guests are provided evening and breakfast meals; access to shower and laundry facilities, a weekly medical clinic, and group counseling; as well as individualized case management, life skills instruction, and referrals to other community services/benefits.

Programming continues to evolve to meet emerging homeless and community needs.

      Thank You DNA Members

Thanks to Ken from CISS for coming to the social to speak to the DNA group about the shelter’s needs and how it serves the downtown neighborhood.
DNA collected a box of food items and $221 in cash to donate to the Central Iowa Shelter and Services – thank you to all who contributed!
