Aside from the obvious differences in the architecture around us compared to other locales within the city, our “neighborhood” is truly different in the issues and challenges we confront as downtown residents, as well as the urban lifestyle we all embrace and celebrate. Nowhere is that more evident than on the agenda of each DNA Board Meeting, when the matters that come before the board for review tell a story of the continuous change that is happening downtown Des Moines. Our board is regularly asked to review grant proposals, architectural plans and other quality of life aspects of downtown development, both residential and commerical.
