The Downtown Neighborhood Association, through its volunteer boards and members, has worked hard over the past ten years to build a strong membership of Downtown residents, giving us a real voice in major issues that impact downtown residents. The DNA has long advocated for residents and have promoted the mantra to involve neighbors in a collective effort to enhance and celebrate the quality of residential life in downtown Des Moines.
We should all understand that there’s value in having a strong membership within the DNA. Without a strong membership we would have not had the voice we needed as new development projects are proposed for development in our backyards. We need to continue to have a strong membership to be a meaningful part of the dialog that guides not only the development of downtown, but all the decisions that impact our quality of life and the vibrancy of the entire city.
